🔬 Horizon Europe - €411M for 73 research infrastructure projects
The EU is investing €411 million in 73 new Horizon Europe projects to give researchers and innovators better access to advanced technologies, services and research infrastructures.
The projects span health, climate, agriculture, transport and manufacturing, while also supporting open science, advanced digital tools, training, mobility and new research careers.

⚡ EU Energy - New Energy Regulation Academy launched
The European Commission and the European University Institute have launched the Energy Regulation Academy (EnRA), a new EU-funded initiative helping national authorities implement electricity market reforms.
The Academy will provide specialised training, peer exchange and tailored support for regulators, ministries and other public bodies, helping translate EU energy rules into practical results for citizens and industry.

⚛️ InvestEU - €40M for Finnish small modular reactor technology
With support from the European Commission through InvestEU, the European Investment Bank is investing up to €40 million in Finnish company Steady Energy to develop small modular reactor technology for carbon-free heat.
The financing will support research, testing and licensing activities from 2026 to 2028 and marks the EIB’s first investment in SMR technology, supporting energy security and Europe’s clean-tech competitiveness.

🏭 Horizon Europe - €275M Clean Industrial Deal call attracts 144 proposals
The Horizon Europe call for research and innovation in support of the Clean Industrial Deal closed with 144 proposals submitted, demonstrating strong interest from applicants.
The call has an indicative budget of €275 million: €125 million for decarbonising energy-intensive industries and €150 million for clean technologies for climate action. Sixteen proposals are expected to be selected for funding.

🤖 EU AI - First AI Important Project of Common European Interest takes shape
The European Commission has welcomed an initiative by 19 Member States to design the first Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) dedicated to artificial intelligence.
The initiative covers the entire AI stack and aims to develop advanced AI, computing technologies and industrial applications while strengthening European digital sovereignty and the AI value chain from technological development to adoption.
