On 29 August 2025, Slovenian and South Korean companies, universities, and research institutions came together online to explore new opportunities for collaboration under Horizon Europe - the EU’s flagship programme for research and innovation. The event was organised by the Slovenia–Korea Business Association, whose purpose is to promote cooperation between the two countries in business, education, research, and development.
Tiko Pro was invited to contribute as a speaker, sharing our knowledge and experience in guiding organisations through the complex world of EU funding. As the funding landscape becomes more demanding - with stricter requirements, sustainability priorities, digitalisation, and cross-border collaboration - we continue to stand out as a trusted partner across R&D, green investments, digitalisation, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare, seeing each project not just as an application but as an opportunity to support meaningful ideas.
During the event, our esteemed colleagues Marjeta Maurer (EU Project Expert) and Marijana Lakić (EU Project Expert) shared their valuable experiences from Horizon Europe projects. With a total budget of €93.5 billion for 2021–2027, Horizon Europe is the largest EU programme supporting research and innovation to date. Building on the success of Horizon 2020, it pursues an even more ambitious agenda that tackles climate change, advances the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and strengthens Europe’s long-term competitiveness and growth. They also highlighted practical examples and shared hands-on tips on how companies and research institutions can position their ideas for success, navigate the application process - from identifying the right call to final submission - and ensure strong alignment with EU priorities.
Their contributions underlined how Horizon Europe is not only about research excellence but also about delivering real-world impact that benefits society, the economy, and the environment. The Slovenia-South Korea networking event was an inspiring opportunity to connect experts and innovators across borders, strengthen bilateral cooperation, and lay the groundwork for joint projects that will shape the future of research and innovation.
