🔬 Horizon Europe - Additional €500M for research and innovation
The European Commission has allocated an additional €500 million to Horizon Europe for 2026 and 2027, bringing the programme’s total budget for the two years to around €14.8 billion.
The amended Work Programme introduces new opportunities covering biodiversity, advanced technologies, AI, energy, skills and the transition of research results towards market deployment.

🏛️ Horizon Europe - €215M partnership for resilient cultural heritage
The EU has launched a new European Partnership for Resilient Cultural Heritage with an overall budget of €215 million, including a €65 million contribution from Horizon Europe.
Bringing together 90 partners from 30 countries, the partnership will support research and cooperation to protect cultural heritage from climate and environmental change, with transnational research calls planned over the next 10 years.

🛰️ Horizon Europe - 132 proposals submitted for EU Space Research
The 2026 Horizon Europe Space Research call has attracted 132 proposals under Cluster 4: Digital, Industry and Space.
The submissions cover areas including European spaceports, Earth observation, satellite telecommunications, scientific exploitation of space data and critical space technologies. Evaluation results are expected by 16 February 2027.

⚡ CEF Energy - Projects strengthen regional energy security
CINEA has highlighted three CEF Energy-funded projects modernising and expanding strategic gas storage infrastructure in Romania and Bulgaria.
The Bilciurești, Depomureș and Chiren projects aim to strengthen security of supply, system resilience and regional cooperation in Central and South-Eastern Europe, particularly during periods of high demand or supply disruption.

❤️ EU4Health - JACARDI tackles cardiovascular diseases and diabetes
HaDEA has highlighted progress from JACARDI, a Joint Action bringing together 18 EU countries, Norway, Iceland and Ukraine to reduce the burden of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
Supported with €53 million from EU4Health, the initiative focuses on prevention, early risk identification, screening, integrated care and reducing health inequalities while generating evidence for future action across Europe.
