Call details:

AMALTEA 2nd Open Call (Cascade Funding under Horizon Europe programme)

Objective of the call

The AMALTEA 2nd Open Call aims to support SMEs and start-ups developing innovative digital and robotic technologies for the construction sector, with a particular focus on façade applications.

AMALTEA seeks to accelerate the digitalisation, automation and sustainability of the curtain-wall façade value chain by integrating advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital twins and robotics.

The second call will select up to 15 SMEs and start-ups to develop, test and validate cutting-edge software and hardware solutions. Selected companies will also receive technical mentoring and business support and will have opportunities to validate their technologies in industrial and construction pilot environments.

Scope of activities

The call supports the development, testing and validation of innovative software and hardware solutions for façade applications.

Relevant technological areas include:

• Artificial intelligence and machine learning
• Digital twins
• Robotics and robotic integration
• Construction automation
• Digital technologies for façade design and production
• Data-driven construction solutions
• Smart façade technologies
• Digitalisation of construction processes
• Technologies supporting sustainable and resource-efficient construction

Projects should contribute to improving sustainability and efficiency in construction and support the digital transformation of the façade value chain.

Selected solutions will participate in a support programme that includes technical mentoring, business support and opportunities for testing and validation in full-scale industrial and construction pilots across Europe.

Two types of projects are supported:

Software solutions

Projects developing and testing innovative software solutions for façade applications.

Maximum funding: EUR 100,000
Support programme duration: 9 months

Hardware solutions

Projects developing and testing innovative hardware or integrated hardware-software solutions for façade applications, including advanced robotic technologies.

Maximum funding: EUR 200,000
Support programme duration: 12 months
